Okay, am I the only one who finds this just a little bit creepy? Lots of potential but still a little more than I am ready to encounter in the woods, or on the highway for that matter.

Amazing how it keeps itself balanced. I agree with you though, it's creepy :p

When they can get it to see where to plant it's feet and then pick the most stable spot, I'll be impressed. Until then, wheels beat it hands down.

Cool application and execution though.

Anybody else get flashbacks of the creepy Vincent Price movie "The Fly"?

That thing is definitely cool BUT pretty creepy.

That is quite a machine. I am impressed by its ability to keep its balance when pushed from the side, and it climbing over the pile of blocks.

Creepy is a spider with a 2 foot leg span. Or for that mater a 2 inch leg span.

I did find it interesting how the design progressed to a much sleeker model throughout the testing. Funny that Ken mentioned a spider, when I started watching the video I was thinking 'if they put eight legs on this thing I'm headed for the hills!'. That probably wouldn't do much good though as it would be much more agile than me.

Can you imagine the how it would feel to hear hundreds of those things headed towards you, but just out of sight?
