Recently I have had to remove quite a few direct links to web sites contained in post signature lines. That practice is prohibited by the SMC Terms of Service:
4. Signatures
Links are not allowed in signatures. Signatures may not be gratuitous commercial advertisements containing promotional offers, sales, or other marketing efforts.
If your "signature" line contains a direct link to your website please edit your User Control Panel options to remove it.
Putting a direct link to a specific part of your web site in the body of a post is permitted if it is germain to the subject of the thread/post.
Some of this is a result of a surge new members recently who have not made themselves aware of the Terms of Service. I encourage all members to visit or re-visit the Terms of Service.
