Well got a call from the Director of the Arts Center where my turnings are displayed. She said bring more bottle stoppers. She had sold the 9 I took down for $29 each. So I have some more that I started on but made three this afternoon on the new Jet. First is Bocote, second is mesquite with ebony inlay and Purpleheart. Sanded to 400 grit and finished with 3 coats of Deft spray lacquer. By the way turning on the new lathe was just a pleasure. Forgot to add new photo tent so experimenting.

Bernie,
Those look great and man they seem to be very profitable. I like the mesquite / ebony one best. Thanks for posting.

Thanks all. I was really surprised when she called as they have only been down there a couple of weeks. 10 more going down tomorrow and I have 10 more on order. The new lathe is a real gem and a pleasure to turn on. It is definitely more than I expected so far.

Bernie,

Stoppers look great...My brother makes homemade wine. I will eventually have to learn how to turn one of these.
Congratulations on sales...

Bernie,

Those look great. Do you mind sharing which bottle stopper blank (the metal part) you use?

David I get mine from Bill at Arizona Silhouette. I believe they are the BHW-465 and BHW-470. I also use his MT2 mandrel which works slick. Bill is fast shipping especially with online ordering and ships fast. I ordered Friday and got mine today priority mail. Not connected just satisfied.
