Here is another bowl from wood given to me by the Doc. from South Africa. Don't know what type of wood it is but the bowl is made from a single board that had a lot of sap wood. It measures 10.5" x 4.5" with 3/8" wall. Thanks for looking. Coments and critiques welcome.

Mike that is a beauty. The sap wood sure does contrast with the darker wood. Really nice piece.

Beautiful bowl Mike! Love the color contrasts in the wood! Great looking joints and finish! Really like the form on this one! Very nice work!

Thanks Bernie & Steve, I think it's all the great examples here on the Creek that give us novices the push in the right direction. I know I have a lot to learn but forums like this are invaluable to people like myself. Thank you all.

Nice bowl Mike! As mentioned, quite the color variation from the same board.

Nicely done. The contrast betwixt the sapwood and heartwood is great. Are they likely to move at different rates? I'd hate to hear of that piece pulliing itself apart.
