I need to remove some dried glue from the bottom of a drill press fence I put together and was wondering my options? Obviously i need to keep it square. I was thinking that I have the following options:

- Joint the whole assembly on the joiner
- Use my hand planer for bulk, then true it up on joiner
- Try to sand the joint (either by hand, or ROS, Or palm sander)

If it's just glue squeeze out,try a sharp chisel along the joint to pop the glue off.

If it's PVA (white/yellow glue), vinegar will soften it so that it can be removed. Woodcraft sells a similar solution called (if my recollection is correct) "De-Glue Goo".

I was able to remove the glued plywood back from a large bookcase. It took some time for the glue to soften (e.g., maybe 5 minutes). What remained was a gummy residue (similar to that when old labels are removed) that scraped off easily.
