How well do you think this puppy (http://www.pennstateind.com/store/DC3-1M.html) will do if i hook it up directly (4 ft flex hose) to my unisaw? I have a 2HP central dust collection system, but the table saw is at the end of a relatively long run and the hose that runs to it is often in my way, since the saw is in the middle of the shop. This little unit will sit directly under the extension table, completely out of the way. Thanks

...get that puppy and use it as a dirty air booster blower.
You just put it so it is between your saw and your main dust collection system.
It will have your main DC pulling on it, and it will be pulling on your saw.
You'll be going  at how much suction will be at the saw.

Or put it about half way along that long run and you'll be going  :D at how much better the suction is boosted. ;)

Harbor Freight has one just about like that, rated at 1 hp for $99.

It may be a cheaper way to test it.

You will be hard pressed to get 850cfms through a 4" hose. My tablesaw is at the end of a long run but I'm using 6" flex for the last 2'. I have a 3hp twin bag dust collector with 1 micron bags.

If I really believed the published specs, I probably would've bought it already. Sure would be nice to have a unit completely under the saw, though....

Indeed. 300-350 CFM tops. On a sunny day... :)
