Hi everyone.
I think this thread most fits in this category but if it better fits a another Mods please move it.
I looked around a bit for a site that has good quality pics/info on domestic hardwoods.
Well this site has domestics as well as exotic and TONS of info related to the species of wood you are looking at. Very helpful.
I have no affiliation but thought I could pass it on here in case some of you had some mystery wood..

I like this site. They aren't selling wood,so they have no motive other than identification.The images seem to be accurate on color and the range of colors and grain.

I've had this site bookmarked for a long time and consider it about the best of its kind. That is, the pictures seem to be better than about anywhere else and he alerts you to things to be aware of in wood pictures. But, as in people, with trees (wood) there are two things to keep in mind. Indiviuals can look radically different and as a person/tree ages the appearance can radically change.
