Cover Up!

We plan on being gone this winter. Should I cover my cast iron tools? the basement shop will not be heated.

I would not think it's needed. My tools all live in an unheated shop, up here in wet British Columbia year round and none of the cast iron ones have shown any rust at all. Just make sure the cast surface is uncovered, the only time I got rust was leaving a piece of plywood on the table saw for a month.
