Hi folks,

The last 2 weekends I've used my spare time to do some turning. The larger piece just has some fresh oil on it and isnt buffed or anything. the smaller is finished on the outside and awaiting my bowl buffs to arrive this week to buff the inside. The wood is black locust from New Hampshire.

These are very interesting looking pieces, Bill. Thanks for sharing them. I also spent time this weekend on the lathe, but the projects are not yet completed due to certain distractions. But it felt very good to be turning!

Interesting stuff, Bill. I really like locust. Have never turned any but carved some stylized seahorses and dogs out of some that I had a few years back. Difficult to work due to it's hardness but takes a beautiful finish. Wish I had some to turn now. About all I have left is catalpa and I've been using that to break in the new Jet 1642 EVS. (When I can find the time)
