Pink Ivory and Olive wood.
Tru-oil finish, buffed and waxed.
Used up $15 of Pink ivory till I got the body right and didn't break it:D I call it pink ebony because of the price!
The stuff is a PITA to turn.
Moved to the olivewood and it didn't even seem like I was turning anymore it was so smooth.

Andrew,

I like the way the two woods work together. That's a very nice birdhouse ornament.

Great looking birdhouse. Like the wood combo you used. Pink ivory and gaboon ebony both are a pain to turn.

Andrew:
That one is a beauty. Love the wood combination. I have turned pink ivory for pens but never that size. It is difficult to turn. Great birdhouse!
All the best.

Another "dittos" on shape and color.

What are your dimensions on this little gem? Diameter of the roof and of the body and overall length would be nice to know.

It seems to be in nice proportion to its "resident" on the perch. That's an important detail to me. The diameter of the roof to the body is also an important proportion, but there are LOTS of variations that work well. Big overhang, tall steep roof, short not-steep roof. It's all about what works visually.

This one is obviously for a dryer, shadier climate. ;)
