LV Twin Screw question

I'm having a problem with the location that LV prescribes for the steel pins to keep your work off of the screws. It falls right where I'm trying to put my dog holes. I have noticed several have put two of them in and have put them much closer to the screw. Are these located just inside of the screws that hold the vise screw collar to the bench jaw?

Roger,

The pins should go on the bench side, and the dog holes should go on the chop side.

In the instructions they show it towards the outer side of the screw, but on the bench side, not the vise jaw (i.e., chop) side.
