I just got a flyer from Menards. They have 3/4 inch plywood for 38.88 per sheet. It indicates that it is "Thickface" veneer. (Birch, oak, maple)

I have been quite frustrated with trying to sand plywood. But I am suspicious of a quality plywood from Menards.

Does anyone have expericene with "Thickface" veneer plywood from Menards? What is B2 grade?

Thanks

B2 means the faces probably will have a defect or two. I used some 1/4" maple on my current project. The 1/4" is actually MDF. It wasn't perfectly flat, but then good 1/4" baltic birch from my lumber dealer isn't usually perfectly flat either. The grain was pretty nice. Actually the backside had really nice curl but a fair amount of tearout so I didn't try to use that side as the visible side. I'd definitely use it again. I haven't used the thicker sheets yet, but they look decent to me.
