Christmas/House Warming Present Possibilities

I just found out my brother-in-law and his new bride are getting ready to close on their first house. I'd like to make him something as a combination Christmas/House Warming present, but am at a bit of a mind block. I'd like to make it masculine enough to be only for him, but also be in line with something to put in his new home. I'm not talking about a huge armoir, but something on the small-ish side.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

A nice wooden tool tote with dovetails.....Not much work, small, and of course it will be used in a new house to carry assorted bits around while curtains are hung etc.
