I think Bill Penz did a review of thta model and found it to actually be a decent design. I thought about it before lucking out on my GO440.

I bought one about a year ago I really like it it does a good job much better than the trash can lid i used before. I use it with a grizz 2hp DC.

Tom,

Do you know what gauge material this is? I think this would be great for me, as I already have a motor and impeller, but wonder how sturdy it is?

Sturdy, short of throwing it off the roof it's pretty bulletproof.

Looks like a beast to empty?

Guess it's not obvious, you only get the cyclone which terminates in a flange at the bottom of the cone. You need to rig up a connection to a barrel with some sort of short flex hose and a stand to support the cyclone so the barrel can be slipped in and out.

since you are running a 2HP DC did you just adapt the 7" outlet down to 6" or does your DC have a 7" inlet. I am considering this guys to use with my Jet 2HP DC.

I don't remember the Guage of it. It is well built though. I haven't had any issues with strength. Mine doesn't have a flange on it it ends in a 6 inch tube.
I mounted mine on the wall them have a trash can under it so it isn't to bad to empty.

I reduced it down to 6inch I haven't had any problems doing that I have much better air flow that I did before but I also went with 6in main steel lines over my old 4in pvc.
