Here's a tip.

I have a pile of scraps of the leftover Rowmark material that I use
for small 1-2 name badge jobs, rather than start a new sheet.

I found one of them had some minor surface scratches in it, this
was the brushed gold. Just for fun, I tried using car wax on it,
and it looks better than new, and engraved the same as usual.

This was "Simply Best" by Z-best Products, but I imagine most
car waxes would work.

I just tried some turtle wax on a couple my scraps and it worked. Thanks for the tip.

I also appreciate the "heads up" about the car wax. I've got some plastic that the Novus products don't even get out. I'll give it a try and see how it turns out.

Thanks again,
Anthony

Thanks for the tip!

One thing I want to try........is toothpaste! I know it sounds funny/weird, but when I was a kid, my grandfather (who was an awesome machinist) used to rub in scratched plastic materials with a little toothpaste to take out scratches. If anyone tries it, let me know if it works, and what kind of toothpaste you used! Back then there wasn't as many choices as there are now :) I believe he just used plain old Crest.

We've used toothpaste for polishing up jewlery.
It should do well for acrylic.

I've used toothpaste for years and an old toothbrush to clean my necklaces and rings.......but it's hard to think about it taking scratches out of plastic :)

Although those may work, I finally dipped in and bough Novus 1/2/3 series and have been pleased beyond all reason for my acrylic scratches.

But before you buy it from one of the 'laser' companies, check your local suppliers first - found it for $1.50 cheaper local plus saved on shipping...

Funny thing - until this post, I never considered using it on romark series... Thanks Joe...

I use a polymer car polish on every badge I make..If it protects the car, it 'should' offer some protection to any plastic it's put on. It only takes a few seconds to wipe it on, let it dry, then wipe it off.. Really brightens up any plastic..
