I've been working on this project every nite after work and about 10 to 12 hours each day the last 3 weekends. The deck is 10' X 32' and it was some hard work. My ground has a lot of shale and rock and even though we had a tractor with a 12" auger it would only go down !0" to 12" and the rest of the 28" X 12" holes were dug by hand. there were 9 footers all together. My wife wanted a deck for the above ground Pool and I had family and a good friend help with the labor and overall I'm pleased wikth the outcome. The only thing left is to put the bottom posts and rails on the steps. It was a tough job anmd I'm glad it's almost done.

Wow Ron,

After all that work we did I'm ready to relax. How's the beer & chip supply?
Oh I'll bring my own towel!:p

Very Nice.

Ron, that's a wonderful looking deck you've built there. I'm sure this will be a wonderful gathering spot for friend's, family and all your SMC friends :D . It sounds like it's been a lot of hard work. I'm sure you'll enjoy for many more hours than you've put into it. Nice work!

I'm sorry I have not responded to those who have responded to my thread. Saturday it rained all day so the wife and I went and visited our daughters and grand kids. Sunday I finished the stairs and lower posts and rails. the deck is complete. Thanks for all the nice comments. Tyler, I do appreicate your hard work could not have gotten it done without you. You are very considerate to bring your own towel. Bruce, thanks for your comments and you are right the view is something our family really appreicates. Todd thanks for your comments, no it's not sealed it was just wet from morning rain. I will waite about six to eight weeks and then stain it with a good cedar deck stain. Chris, Jason, Greg, Ken and Lars thanks for your nice comments too. Oh yes and Richard we could make a U shape deck and then the traveling pool could just back in. Thanks again for all all the nice comments they meant a lot.
