I have built a few jewelry boxes before....
What I have have done in the past was to make a lid with a frame stiffening it and polyurethaned the lid and box
This time I made a lid out of 9/16" maple, finished it with Danish oil and lent it out to a display case which had questionable heat and humidity issues
When I got the box back from the display case the lid had warped up at the ends (arrggghhh). The box had been at my house for a few months and was fine.
Not sure if I did anything wrong in my lid design or was it just the damn display case.
Any thoughts welcome, including how to avoid this frustration in the future.
