Nothing wrong with starting one up here too but there is another MI WW forum that I know several SMC members frequent. Can't post a direct link to another forum, but this should skirt the TOS nicely

The forum title is SE MI WW but I doubt they check your MI drivers license for admission:D

Dave, I think its a cool idea.

Doug is right--we (Southeast Michigan Woodworkers) don't check ID's. We've got members in central and western Michigan. In fact, that I can think of, we've got members in Ohio, Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Texas, and California. Most are guys who were members when the lived here and then moved away. But one of the California members hasn't lived in Michigan since 25 years before the club was founded. He even manages to make it to a meeting about once a year. Back in the days of cheap gas, we used to have a number of guys who drove down from the Lansing area.

If you are interested in learning more, stop by our web site/forum which is at www dot semiww dot org or PM me. We meet in Ypsilanti on the third Thursday of the month and the galoots have an additional meeting on the first Thursday. The location of the galoots meeting varies between Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and Monroe depending on the topic and weather. Membership is free, other than bringing cookies to your first meeting.

Doug and Matt
Thanks for the invite. I'll have to check my schedule for those meetings. With gas below 2 bucks, I might be able to get to Ypsi.
