I watched the wood whisperer's latest podcast on making these mantle clocks. I just got done making 4 of them for my wife's family as christmas gifts. 2 are made with cherry and the center on all for is birdseye maple. one is walnut and the other is bubinga.

This was the first time using the incra 1000se to do the 45degree miters and they were dead one. very happy with that.

Great work... I am still waiting for the Christmas where I can get the projects done on time.

Is that a dowel on each side suspending the clock?

I love my 1000se as well. INCRA is tops!

Thanks for sharing.

Nice job, Mike. You are the second to post some clocks for Xmas gifts in the last few days. I saw some clock hardware a few days ago at Woodcraft and may give it a go next year as that is an extremely nice gift I think for family without going over-board on spending.

Sarge..

Excellent Xmas gifts Mike. Well done.

Make sure to post some pics of the serving tray and jewelry box when they are done.
