This is a piece of scrap from the side when I was cutting the platters up to be roughed. It had a lot of color in it so I hated to let it go to waste. I decided to do a little carving on it, which ain't nothing grand, but I believe someone will buy it. Measures 1'' high x 13 long. Sealcoat and paste wax finish.

Very nice variation on a NE ambrosia platter! I like the idea of the bowl - that by itself works well but then you did the carving and that elevates it to a very unique piece! Has a rustic feel to it and I am sure that someone will buy it! Nice work Mike - thanks for sharing!

Steve, the rustic look was what I was thinking exactly. Some people, that have a woody house like a cabin would like this piece because you can tell how it was just sliced right out of the tree.

You certainly were right in not wanting to waste the wood, there was not a lot to work with, but you made a very nice platter out of it still.
The carved lines do make it feel like a platter, it really sets it apart, very well done Mike :D
