Pro Bats for pens

A fellow wood turner ask me tonight if I knew how he could get broken bats from a pro team. He likes to turn pens from wood with some history. He has written letters to some teams (he dose not do the internet) but has not gotten any answers. Has anyone here ever gotten bats to do this or know the names of 'Batboys' with access to bats:D.

That would be tough to do I would think. Anyone with a famous name is going to have any bats sold as memorablia even if broken. Like to hear how this turns out. Will be watching the replys.
