Ah, my kingdom for a requirement that all plastic be marked with recycling info:) I'm trying to figure out what those binding combs you see on things like cookbooks are made from. The person requesting the work hasn't had any luck finding out, figured maybe someone here might have an idea...
In lieu of a mark, I'd settle for a feature from Epilog that makes the machine cringe in fear when I put something bad in it....:D

This is a thing I downloaded a while ago. I have no idea where I got it (and have 4 minutes of battery left), so apologies to the creators. Unzip it and click on the cl_plasticsid.html file. A plastics identification chart

Could be PVC, PP, or HDPE. All plus some others are used.

That chart should be of great help, thanks Darren:) I've been looking for a way to identify the miscellaneous plastics that cross my desk:)

Thanks to everyone else too, hopefully the pvc one is just a fluke:)

Ok, for all those curious, the comb binders are definitely PVC according to our rep in Arizona. They are GBC binders after all. They don't burn the way the chart says, they self extinguish but do not exhibit the burn characteristics that are on the chart, there is no greenish edge to the flame. One bullet dodged..
