Maple HF Rough Out

Just took this off the lathe and decided to take some quick snapshots before putting it in the DNA to soak.

This maple is still extremely wet and is just now starting to dry on the outside. The band you see around the mid section of the form is water brought to the surface by the steady rest. The HF measures 11 ½” diameter x 5 ½” high.

Looks like you will have another pretty one to share in a month or two steve! That undulating grain patter should really stand out. Form is top rate and the size is just short of massive for a HF of this style...Bill..
