Wanlut & Maple Pedestal Box

I had a piece of walnut burl left over(the end wasn't nearly as burled as the rest), and decided to make my first pedestal box. This is a Christmas present. It is meant to be functional, so I made the pedestal bigger than what is normally seen on a pedestal box. I wanted it to be stable but not too clunky. It stands about 8" tall and the box is about 4 1/2" in diameter.
