Gloat! Pm 90 lathe-free!

Just unloaded it in my shop! Man, is it a hunk of metal! Somewhat rusted and the tailstock won't turn but it's got a single phase 3hp motor and seems to be complete. Now, where do I find info on it and possibly parts? Anyone?

Those Powermatics, like the Olivers, were designed to survive generations of highschool kids, and thats tough ! OWWM, definitely for info. I find EBAY best for parts for obsolete tools, though it might take a while for what you need to show up. I actually got a unique missing screw and a replacement spindle for my small lathe, which is at least 60 years old. Have a great time putting it back in good order.

After getting a basket case PM90 and putting it all together (2 or 3 times ) I fired it up and thought "So this is what a solid lathe is!" I have 4 other lathes set up and this one just does stuff the others don't. The gap bed is great for bowls and plates mouldings etc. but the tool rest could be a bit closer for small stuff. The variable speed is great too. I've gotten some stuff on the Bay for it. Good luck setting it up and getting some shavings started.

It doesn't have the gap bed but it will indeed be nice to have a stable lathe!
