Got my unisaw 4 years ago and shortly after got a merlin quick release splitter. It works great except you can't bevel the blade more than 35deg.
Never routed out the bottom of the throat plate for clearance.
Broke my throat plate two weeks ago and installed a zero clearance phenolic.....same problem with clearance...looked into the price of the "Biesemeyer" quick release splitter again and it's now up to $170.
Did some intense research and found out Delta makes a $40 version of the Bies. Spent 2 hours on the phone to find out from Delta that both the Delta and Bessy should work without hitting any part of the throat plate.
Can anyone comment on this???
If this is true, I'd like to know why the $40 Delta was so hard to find and is not even listed as an accessory quick release splitter on Delta's website....just the $170 Bessy. Must be the $170!!!
