Were completly over run with these red eyed buggers! Working on the deck this weekend, Kathy and i took turns picking them off each others back and moving them to make a cut. And since their ability to navigate while in flight is poor at best, mowing the lawn can be a real experience.

Oh well, at least they look cool.... :D

For some reason, we haven't seen any on our property or in the neighborhood, although they are reported to be in the area. We actually saw our first ones on Sunday, but we were at Cabin John park near Rockville MD for a family picnic. Only saw a total of two there but could hear them in the background.

They are really not as scary as those pictures make them look. Surpisingly, with my house surrounded by trees, I have seen only a few.
