I'm putting my new vise on my bench and it has countersunk holes which measure .3183 or about 5/16ths. The biggest wood screws I can find locally are #14. Where would I go to get bigger wood screws?

Can you get to the otherside of the wood or is it into the edge of the top? If you can get to the back you could use allen head bolts (flathead) and they would be harder and stronger than wood screws. Or you could use threaded inserts into the edge of the top and use those bolts too. I've got a few broken off #14 wood screws in boards here and there.

McMaster-Carr. www.mcmaster.com They show flathead wood screws in sizes up to #24. (The head diameter is 3/4".)

You may want to use flat head bolts and drill all the way through. The large screws may not have enought thread int ehwood to give you a really good grip on the table.
