Hi Everyone,
This is my first post here, I believe. What an active forum! I'm glad I found it.
I have noticed an acronym "TBE" on various plans for arts and crafts furniture projects I've been looking at, and I can't figure out what it means. It is often listed in a comments section on a materials list next to the dimensions of a piece. In this book I am looking at, it is listed a lot with rails and stiles, so I am guessing it has to do with tenons.
Example:
Dimensions T W L-------------Comments
3/4" x 2" x 21"-----------------1" TBE
What does this note stand for? Is it "Tenons Both Ends?"
Thanks,
Tom

Although TBE was not in here, you may need to refer to it from time to time.

If "TBE" means "To Be Exact", can someone enlighten me as to the interpretation of 1" (To Be Exact) in the comment quoted by Tom Frank? I don't see any obvious relationship between that and the rest of the quoted text.

In that case how about:
Total Budget Estimate

Toilet Bowl Effect it is!
Thanks or the answers, guys. As Tom Veatch pointed out, I just can't how "To Be Exact" would make sense in the context of how I presented it. I believe T s for Tenon, because in the project from which I quoted, that board listed does have 1" tenons.
Thanks again!
Tom
