Turned this today. The wood is walnut, the clock is an inserted battery operated movement, which is all one piece. It fits into a 1 3/8" diameter hole, and is held in place by some springs on the side of the movement. I recessed the front of the clock to almost flush with the front of the wood. Sanded the wood to 400 grit, then used EEE, then buffed it with carnuba wax on a buffing wheel. Still have to put on the hanger, and sign it.
