OK. I bought the BLO and I applied it and I wiped off the excess after ten minutes. Now....I don't know what to do now. I thought it would say more on the can....

How many coats do I/should I put on this letter opener?...

How long does it take for it to cure after the last coat?/between coats?...

Can I put it in the sun to hasten the cure? (Sorry to those people who are getting rain and flooding)...

What do I buff it with when it is finally cured?

Once again, thanks to all for the great help that is provided here.

You can often use just one application of the BLO, but can also do multiple coats a day apart. Cure time is anywhere between 2 and 7 days, depending on the climate, characteristics of the wood you used and so forth. When the smell goes away...it's fully cured. Buffing can be done with a buffing wheel (such as the Beall system) or for a satin sheen, you can just use some high-quality furniture wax after the oil is cured.
