Greetings:
Here's a couple of pics of a mesquite piece that received a third place at the November Gulf Coast Woodturner's Assoc meeting today.
The original piece of wood had long wings on two sides making the over lenth nearly three feet. A club member suggested "remove the wings, turn it and don't be afraid of negative space."
Hummm, what does that mean in turning language? The piece is 10" in diameter and 5" tall.

Best regards, Tom
