My 12 year old son decided he wants to learn how to carve after our summer trip to Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial. I had tried, but time is an issue. Anyway I started him off on a dove, he made a half dozen as his practice project.

Last week, his teacher asked his class to make something for the nuns at the convent for their bingo night. He decided on these.

Eric, welcome to the creek. I think your 12 yr. old has more skill than I do already. I have a 9 yr old who wants to work in the shop. I am still not sure how to get him started, I gave him a couple of small projects nothing major yet.
