Going to make some candle holders for Christmas gifts. I need some wood combinations to use.
Maple / Purpleheart
Maple / Cherry
Thought about Wenge / Spalted Maple (if I can find any)

Jim,
Maple and cherry work very well together; a friend did a room for a client with cherry (floors and doors) and bird's-eye maple (door/window trim and border around the floor).

Jim,
I don't turn but I love he talent the turners have here. An odd source but if you really want to see a lot of different woods go together nice look though the turners forum here.
They always tell what the woods are and you can see tons of them in just a few minutes.

No prettier combination than walnut and maple - preferably curly maple with a heavy figure.

I agree with John. Tiger Maple and mahogany look good together too.

I've glued up some maple and zebrawood and it looked really nice.
