Can anyone recommend a good resource for learning Corel but with a focus (ha ha, it's a laser joke ;) on Laser use?

Thanks much.

Sawmill Creek and Engraving Etc. are two of the best resources you'll find! I don't know if there is anything written specifically for lasers but I'd be curious to see it if it exists.

Gabe,

What you are looking for is,

" Corel Draw and your Laser Engraver " by Mike Clarke.

I purchased mine from my Epilog distributor. Not sure where else to get a copy. Someone here on the Creek will know.

Hi Frank,

If you look inside the first few pages of the book you will find an ISBN number. If you post that number we can search more easily as it is unique to that book.

Thanks

Frank,
Was that book helpful?

Gabe,
I've been reading the Official Guide by Gary Bouton (he gets so excited whenever you e-mail him to say you bought his book!) and it has been a great resource for learning Corel.....but not lasers. I got a copy of the DVD for Unleashed and Foster Coburn is good too.....the benefit to the DVD is that there are alot of videos to watch (definitely easier than reading). But clearly the best source I have found so far for showing you the BASICS of using the laser with Corel...is LaserU. They've done some nice videos....but like I said, it doesn't get too in depth into Corel.

Hope my reviews help!

Steve,

The book is helpful for me. I started my laser buiness with poor computer skills and it remains my toughest challenge still. When I need help I go to the book. The book is based on X3 and I am using v12.

A DVD by Foster Coburn - "CorelDraw Unleashed". Plenty of videos walk you through some 'tough to get' concepts.

Great site too.

Hey guys, thanks for all the different directions to look into. I'm very interested in the Corel and Laser book by Mike... that said being a poor art student who used the majority of student loans to buy a used laser I'm a little short when it comes to $150 for the book new. Anyone aware of the availability of used copies or even better have one they'd be willing to part with?
Thanks again all.

I'm used to the grossly inflated prices of computer books, but even by those standards $150 is ridiculous.
