I am looking for a smooth surface very white Formica or like material with a black core. The black core is critical.
If you have any info I'd appreciate your input.

Off topic but notice how this thread has an ad (Wilsonart) at the bottom related to your thread. Pretty smart.
Another place to look is Nevamar.

The Nevamar MSDS doesn't exactly say what materials are used but does have this warning:
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS:
Thermal decomposition may release toxic and/or hazardous gases.
You might want to check that out before you laser in case there is any pvc.

Thank you for the warning. The material they're referring to is melamine. The product I'm intersted in is phenolic which has melamine as an ingredient.
