Gavel is from some unknown wood that was left by the previous owner of the residence. It was done primarily with the skew. It was a bit small for the head but was limited by the size of the stock piece. Size: 10" x 4", BLO finish.

The mallet was made from some white oak that was glued together to get the four inch diameter. I made it because I needed a wooden mallet. Size: 10" x 3.5", BLO finish.

Thanks to all of you guys and gals for your helpfulness. It makes things lots easier for us just learning. John

Nice work John!

Gavel? Are you the judge also? The mallet looks really good! That is something I am going to have to turn one of these days!
