I am starting to make a couple of the letter openers from the latest issue of Wood Mag. If you have seen his article, could some of you fine woodworkers out there give me some ideas on how to suport the letter opener while finishing it? I can't seem to figure out how to do it and get it completely covered.

Thanks very much for your help.

It will probably be easiest to finish with an application of BLO and buffing after it cures. If you want a film finish on it, too, a wipe-on product will make for easier application. Just do one side at a time so you don't have to deal with the "supporting" problem. Padding on Shellac makes for quick work in that case since it cures very quickly.

One side at a time...thanks Jim. That's what I needed to know.
