I need to glue a wire lamp shade frame to the tooled leather shade it used to be attached to. There's not enough of the original glue left for me to get a clue as to what type of glue they used. The frame will glue about a half inch below the top circle of the shade.

Yes, the lamp & shade are quite unusual!

Thanks

I'll bet a million bucks it was glued with hot melt which is why it failed in the first place.

Doug,
Try some GOOP. A very handy, all purpose adhesive. Any of the different types will work. Always keep a tube in my shop for those problem repairs. Stays semi-flexible.
Good luck with it. Can be found in most hardware and box stores. Al R.

Polyurethane glue (for instance Gorilla) sticks to leather. That's what's holding my work shoes together. The only part I'm not sure about is whether it will handle the heat.

I would use leather contact cement.

"I would use leather contact cement."

I would think that too with one caution. That stuff is extremely flammable. So you might want to see how hot it gets first.
