This is a test to see if i can figure out how to do thumbnail attachments.

I was given some cutoffs of this blue pine from a rustic furniture maker so I attempted a pen.

I would say that your "attempt" was extremely successful! Beautiful pen, Ron.

The photos are technically ok. And the pen seems to be quite good looking and well crafted. But the surroundings are just awful. And therefor you can't really appreciate the pen's quality. I think such a pen deserves a better presentation.

Thanks Jim. The wood is different.

Thanks. The wood was a tad bit difficult to turn. I kept having to douse it with CA.

You don't like my pen press as a background on my kitchen counter?:)

You are absolutely correct. I should have done something different as far as background.

ron, very nice pen. definitely keep it up.
I will. I have a couple more pieces of this wood for a reel seat for a fly rod. This time I'm going to use some MEK+Plexi to stabilize the wood before turning. I just hope it doesn't change the colors very much.
