Hello everyone,

I am in the trim stage of making my 1970's house look like it was built 100 years ago.

Here is a pic of my first trimmed out window,

With a shot of the detail,

The ceiling in the bathroom is very low, in the rest of the house the board between the top fillet and the top trim will be 4" and not 3/4"

I started with rough sawn boards and milled everything myself.

One window down, dozens of windows and doors to do....

Thank you for looking,

David.

David,
Beautiful work. I'm in the process of remodelling my master bath with cherry. I've got one window and was thinking of ways to trim out that window I have. You've given me a great idea. Can you elaborate on the buildup? My filet would also be 4". I was thinking of making mirrors in the same style. I'm at the "3 cabinets down, 2 cabinets and a lot of trim to go" stage.

Nice casework. Are you going to stian (ooops make that stain) it or leave it natural, inquiring minds want to know ?

Great job. I am working on a similar style. Lots of work isnt it? Not too surprising why this amount of casing is not as common anymore. Lots of hand sanding? I just got in one of those mop setups for my next batches of trim.

Post more pics as you take em.

That looks great David. Somewhere out there in the future I have a vision of doing something in the living room . . . . a little more mission style but a similar dress up. You have inspired me and confirmed it can be done without looking like a "bolt on". I really like it.

Hi David,
Your window trim looks great, very clean and very classy.
I am afraid you have raised the bar too high.
Now we always expect good stuff from you. And with cool wood too...
I don't know how such a busy guy finds any shop time at all?!?

Stop the presses!
In other news, a couple of shineheads were spotted out in public recently.
It is not known whether it was a big forehead convention, or a woodshow?
Details are sketchy.

Mr. Eisan, I feel lucky to call you my tool guru, my hero who has survived much and with great humour, and my friend.
Hope I get a chance to get to your city and see you soon.

Keep up the good work,
be well,
Walt
