I'm thinking about buying a jointer (grizzly) but don't know which to buy. I would use it moderatley at most but want one that will last and be easy to use. Any suggestions would be helpful.

If you use it moderately, almost any jointer will last. I'd evaluate what size will fit in your shop and budget. Wider and longer tables are a good thing, especially wider. Make sure you're comfortable with the knobs, particularly the one for the infeed table.

If you can afford it get a helix cutter head on the jointer.

Check out this thread http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=95461

The focus was on the priority of options, width vs. length vs. cutterhead vs. adjustment type. Cost was not supposed to be a factor, just the actual options. The examples were Grizzly machines. The poll contained 5 options. Your jointer choice will most definately depend on your budget as the least expensive 6" was ~$650 and the most expensive ~$1100. Quite the difference in price.

In a previous thread I inquired about horsepower for a jointer and was told not to worry about it too much unless you only ever work with the hardest of woods.

Three items to note in your buget.

1. MS Cashback.

2. Prices on Grizzly products WILL increase December 31. That is straight from the bear's post up in the Deals Section.

3. The Christmas sale has begun at Grizzly. So if you looking at the annual printed catalog, some of the prices have been reduced (some more than others)

Grizzly currently has a huge price break on "paint blemished" G0604XB (http://cgi.ebay.com/Grizzly-6-Parallelogram-Jointer-Warranty-NEW-G0604XB_W0QQitemZ280281273861QQcmdZViewItem?hash=i tem280281273861&_trkparms=72:1205|39:1|66:2|65:12|240:1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14) at $450 (normally $575) which is $433 after shipping and cashback.

Not sure what your budget it, but thats a pretty sweet deal that I would be buying if I weren't looking at the 8" line of jointers.

I love my 8". It has long beds and the four knife cutterhead works great. It's a clone of the delta and the steel city 8"Parallelogram. On sale for 775$!!

I would go for width of head vs spiral/helical/byrd. Get a larger jointer first - you can always add the byrd head later. I bought a 12" DJ30 and after running through a few hundred bdft found I do not need a byrd.
