Does anyone know if this adaptor will fit on the Festool Rotex sander and all other Festools with round dust ports?

I have a Fein Turbo III which I need to use with a Rotex I ordered.

If anyone else has used the larger 2 1/4" hose with a festool, how was it?

The Rotex does not have a round port. It is an ellipitcal port that the rubbery hose end forms around. In case the newer Rotex has a round port, I'm talking about the earlier version of the Rotex.

I found a soft hose at HD by Rigid ($12-15). Has a 2 1/4 connector on one end and a small flexible slip-on connector on the other. It's a little larger than the 150 port, so I wrapped about 3 turns of blue tape around the port and it's been working Fein for over a year.

You're much better off with the "non-antistatic" hose from Festool. It's cheaper than the normal green one (it's gray in color), and will fit any standard shop-vac.

The rubber "bootie" is designed to fit all the Festool machines perfectly -- which, in fact, it does.

The newer Rotex has a round port.

The only Festool sander I have with an oval-shaped port is the DX93 detail sander (which I hope they change because the hose tends to come off easier than my other Festool sanders with round ports).

You'll also need the flexible Fein "step" adaptor (cut to 1st step) and the adaptor you referenced if you want to use the Fein 2 1/4" hose. I just tried it and seems a bit "unwieldy" with all the connections, but it will work for the lowest cost. I'm with Jason and recommend either the smaller Festool non-anti-static hose or the smaller Fein hose with the step adaptor.

You can find the step adaptor here:

The hose from my old porter cable random orbital sander fits the festool stuff fine. I use a fein vac and the two hose don't match up perfectly so they are duct taped together. The proprietary hoses for festool and fein are way over priced in my opinion and there are cheaper ways to do it.
