A simple Norway bowl that looks and feels just right to me :)
It's about 12" and still without a finish, I'm not sure if I will put one on or not, but it will be Tung oil if any, won't change the color much.
Any and all comments appreciated :D

Leo:
This is the kind of turning that I want to do. It does look right to me. Beautiful.
All the best.

Very nice, Leo. A nice, comfortable bowl's-bowl!

Norway maple was what most of my earliest turnings were made of since about that time, I took down two of them on our property. They are considered "weed" trees around here. One benefit of those two trees, however, is that they were "pre-spalted" for some reason. LOL

Leo....Nice bowl. Interesting rim treatment. I hope I won't be breaking any laws by coping it. Nice wood. Nice clean lines on the entire form. Nicley done.

Hi Jim, thanks, I know what you are saying about weed trees, though this one was a hybrid from my neighbor across the street, a so called Krimson king, but yes they do start growing everywhere, with their million seeds it is no wonder, but it is quite nice wood to turn, and the price was right ;-))

Thanks Ken, yes you go right ahead, there's nothing new under the sun IMO with regard to bowl forms or ornamentation, you just have to find the right combination to make it look right, some you win some you loose ;-))

Thanks Sean for the comment, the upper part of the tree had a lot of limbs quite close together, and they can be a real problem, though they do make some interesting grain in there :D :)
