I got the Oliver 192-HD band saw unpacked and in the shop today. This is what they called a "Portable" band saw in 1959 - all 650# of it.

So, it's all taken apart and ready to paint. I'll be ordering a VFD for it tomorrow, and in about a week I'll be making sawdust with it.
Ain't life a Hoot!!

Paint looks not too bad as is, but it should be quite a beaut when redone.

The paint is in very good condition. However, I like green, so green it shall be.:D:D

Portable, yup, that definition has changed. My RAS weighs over #800 assembled, and it was a 'portable' model. Could be wired 110 or 220 and had a switch on the starter to change the motors internal wiring on the fly, I'm told to accommodate what ever power source was available on site. Glad I never had to carry it around with me!
Have fun with that rehab.

Fortunately it's not really a rehab, just going to paint it.
What RAS do you have. I'm going to pick up a DeWalt GWI 10" saw in a couple of months. Hope that doesn't weigh 800#.
