I have several pieces of W. Butcher cast steel hand tools. Tennon saw, chisels, etc. Have had little luck in finding any history of this brand. I find them to be excellent in quality, and I enjoy using them. They sharpen well, and hold the edges.
Please share your info or a possible source of same.
Thanks.
Bill

A Google search on > butcher cast steel < comes up with a lot. Much of it, of course, having nothing to do with what you want. That is the flaw of casting a wide net. This one may be of interest to get you started.

I've seen them before here and there, cast steel, likely very late 19th, early 20th century. Should be good steel on the chisels. If the tenon saw has split nuts its mid-19th century.
