Veterans' "Aid and Attendance" benefit

anyone here familiar with this benefit? We're going through this (and other issues) with my wife's father. Turns out he did pretty much zero planning for retirement and long term care, but at the same time expects to live well into his 90's. Oy.

Thanks Glen - I had seen 2 of those pages, but not the middle one....it's good info....

a major issue is that he lives in an assisted living facility (he can't live alone), and in this market we can't sell his house...so we're unsure what to do...
