We'll my search for a used 8" jointer is on going. I'm passing on the Diltec jointer (looks like it might a "Reliant" cousin). Now up for grabs is a Linmac CT-200 jointer. Any one ever hear of them?

Yup, I've got a Lin-Mac tilting spindle shaper. From the little I've found on them I believe they were sold mostly in the Northeast, pretty much a generic Asian product with a local dealer putting the name tag on. The heavier stuff is decent but rough around the edges. I don't know if they made too much lighter duty (Reliant type) machinery. They were mostly sold to small professional shops. If it's in good shape it will probably do everything you need without a problem, it may just be a little less refined than some of the other brands.
good luck,
