Some nice figure in this piece of burl, hard as nails to cut. Measures 7 wide and 5 high. Antique oil finish.

Mike - that bowl has a little bit of everything in it! Beautiful piece, great looking wood - lots of character! Love the little worm holes! Thanks for sharing!

Very nice - as usual. How did you manage to turn the foot and such an odd shape? Thanks for sharing

Pretty cool form. Hope you still have all of your knuckles after that one!

Very Nice!! I really like the way you used the natural form of the wood. For the life of me, I dont understand why some folks dont like working with oak. I think the color, grain and texture are beautiful.

Thanks for sharing

Tom, you are a man after my own heart! I love the smell of oak ,the grain and all the different colors within! I have a couple of oak burls just waiting for me to tear into one is red oak and the other is white oak. I turned a piece that was in the firewood pile the other day and it is drying a bit so I can finisn turning it. I love the cracks and little holes. Keep up the good work. I finished a metal stand for my new mini steel city lathe so tomorrow I can put it to work! Here is a picture of one of my favorite oak vases.
