make my pics smaller!

how do you make a 500kb pic into a 100kb pic? I am trying to post a simple line drawing made with paint and i can't make it any smaller.....also, when I look at the properties of other pics that have been posted it shows anything from 45000-90000bytes. how do you do it?

I have used a program call IfanView 3.90, it will allow you to resize as well as other things. Best of all it is free. Just search the web, alot of sites have it available for downloading.

I would check the file format, too. .BMPs are usually always huge. GIFs usually have the best compression on line drawings, whereas .JPGs and .PNGs are great for photographs. (As a side note, there is an entire art I go through in choosing, but I won't reproduce them here).
